New BB+ Set Menu Makes Amazing Punjab Grill Dining Affordable

We start with a gorgeous board of the Indian equavalent of chips and dip: pappadums and crackers with a whole raft of delectable chutneys. This is the perfect start to your meal, great with a drinks.

The first course proper featured the absolute best take on the street food fave: chaat. The watermelon slab with a chaat topper is the ultimate way to start - it's light and summery, while the patak patta chaat and the yoghurt-esque dahi bhalla are both exceptional.

If none of these grab you, the chilled mango soup is an innovative dish from Chef Sandeep. It plays with your mind a bit, and is very filling so if you have a smaller appetite, be prepared!

APPETISERS

This plate of food offers generous portions. For meat eaters, there's salmon and chicken tikka and lamb seekshan - we highly rate the salmon tikka - and if you've opted for the vegetarian menu a gorgeous paneer multani, a superb mustard broccoli and tandoori aloo - this was absolutely divine and very filling! Every dish here is layered in flavour and while I'll always choose the meat menu, the veg options were absolutely outstanding, by far the best we've tried in some time.

MAINS

Enjoy the chilly palate cleanser then choose a main:

Meat: the most incredible coconut prawn curry, served resplendent in a coconut, a melt-in-your mouth mutton biryani (astoundingly good) and butter chicken - given the seal of approval for the rich taste and large portion!

Veg: Paneer roulade, makhani and saag would be our pick, but the lotus stem kofta curry is hard to go past. The vegetarian biryani has a jackfruit base and is tender and flavourful.

With your main comes absolutely beautiful pillowy naan, roti and steamed rice. There's also a fresh kachumber salad and you can get dal makhani for AED30 extra.

At our table of four, we each ordered a different dish (with butter chicken featuring twice!) and shared, and there was still food left over at the end - it was generous at best!

DESSERT

If you have room, you can choose from a gorgeous rasmalai or a piquant mango tart - great for the fruit lovers among us and a nice way to finish an excellent meal.

DRINKS

The BB+ menu at Punjab Grill allows you to order three drinks, choosing from in season cocktails (we loved the daiquiri), mocktails, beer options including Kingfisher, Singha and Corona, wine (red, white and rose) and spirits. These are all very generous pours and match well with the meal.
