Want a proper foodie brunch with zero stuffiness? Brunch at The Cafe, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi is about to become your new go-to. Go glam or tasteful weekend casual - this brunch is all about getting together with friends and family and enjoying top quality food in a relaxed atmosphere. It was the best brunch last year - and it’s a strong contender for the crown once again!

Seafood lovers are spoilt for choice - with trolleys of French oysters and Osietra caviar blinis, mounds of lobster, crab legs, prawns and mussels on ice, as well as plenty of salmon (smoked, cured, salt baked), platters of beautifully arranged shrimp cocktail, ceviche, aesthetic sushi that tastes just as good as it looks - wow! Don’t skip the salmon maki rolls topped with lime, and the fresh sashimi is some of the best we’ve had at a brunch.

The wagyu striploin steals the show at the yakitori station. Topped with black caviar, and with excellent charcoal undertones, we found ourselves heading back to this station an embarrassing number of times. The miso cod is also perfectly balanced and expertly charred.

This is a brunch with no ‘fillers’ - all the dishes feel well thought out and executed. We were particularly impressed by the chilli soft shell crab and the beetroot utappam - made to order, the fluffy base and sweet and spicy sauce compliment the prawn topping perfectly.

Outside at the hanging grill, it’s hard to choose between the fresh Atlantic lobster, chimichurri prawns, lamb chops and perfectly seasoned tomahawk steak grilled to your liking. The beef shortrib doesn’t disappoint - it’s well cooked and fall-apart soft, with a beautiful caramelisation, and feels like proper comfort food partnered with the creamy potato gratin.

Desserts are a standout. As you enter the dessert room - giving secret hideaway vibes - you’re greeted by platters of the most incredible-looking tarts, petit bonbons, slabs of artisan chocolate, a flowing chocolate fountain, and cakes decked out with jewel-coloured berries. Surrounded by dry ice, this is a real example of theatre and quality combined. Trust us - it's worth saving space!

Don’t leave without sampling the heaving cheese table. Looking like something from Caesar’s Palace, this banquet-esque cheese heaven hosts every kind of cheese you can think of. We loved the brie topped with figs and nuts slathered on the uber-soft brioche.

As well as some of the best brunch wine in town and Warsteiner on tap, there are also some great cocktails and mocktails on offer. The sweet, fruity island bloom and the refreshing cucumber-based palm breeze cooler will keep non-drinkers happy. The espresso etoile with vodka, Kahlúa, espresso, Nutella créme and a salted caramel foam is also worth saving for the end - it’s a drink and dessert in one!

Service is attentive and friendly and the solo singer matches the relaxed atmosphere, delivering classics from the likes of Sade and Ben E. King that will have you swaying and tapping your feet (maybe even singing along) as she moves among the tables.

Children are escorted to the kids area at Brunch at The Park which has proper supervision and activities that will keep a wide age range occupied. In addition to a selection of food for younger diners, the staff run games along with arts and crafts. There’s a PlayStation for older kids, and giant chess and table football might tempt the teens away from screens for a while - not to mention the piñata stuffed with candy! It’s clear that proper thought and attention have gone into creating a kids' area that is not just an afterthought - and we appreciate it!

Kicking off inside this weekend, we can’t wait to go back when the terrace reopens shortly for the season. This brunch is 100% going on our return list - and we can see this becoming a favourite again this year, among long time fans and new faces too.
