One of the best things about the Holy Month of Ramadan? Sharing in iftar - the breaking of the fast - every day at sunset. Whether you've fasted during the day or not, it’s a very special thing to be part of, one where you truly immerse yourself in the culture of the region - and get to enjoy some once-a-year Ramadan specialties!

Buffet iftars in Abu Dhabi are a legendary undertaking. Most iftars hold regional delicacies as well as some international offerings, if you're still working out what you like and what you don't! Don't skimp on dessert and do try the Ramadan juices and tea - sometimes you’ll be lucky enough for a ceremonious pour and some extra special touches.

Even at a buffet, all tables are equipped with water and either juice or laban to immediately break the fast, along with dates, other dried fruit and often nuts. If you're not fasting, please be mindful of those who are and let them enjoy the spoils of the buffets first. It’s a special experience - and here are the best iftars in Abu Dhabi if you’re looking for something impressive this Ramadan season.

Balcon Souq Iftar at Balcon Lounge and Terrace

Southern Sun Abu Dhabi

Always a winning option for iftar in Abu Dhabi, Balcon Terrace is stepping it up this year with the all-new Balcon Souq Iftar. Located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, this rooftop comes alive during the Holy Month of Ramadan. With a mixture of more private, cabana seating and open tables so you can soak it all in, this affordable iftar buffet is a great place to break your fast as the sun dips below the city skyline.

Expect generous options of hot and cold mezze, live cooking stations - the lamb ouzi is a must-try as are the tandoori prawns and the grilled fish! - as well as beautiful refreshing Ramadan juices and a mix of traditional and international desserts - the umm ali is always on point and we highly recommend it! You’ll really feel at peace with the ambient qanun music as you sit under the stars and take in the beautifully decorated rooftop. Shisha is available for an additional AED40 per person - from sunset until 8.30PM - if you fancy it.

Time: daily | sunset - 8.30PM

Price: AED169 per person | AED65 kids | AED40 to add shisha | group discount available upon request

Iftar at Yas Grand Terrace & Courtyard Iftar

Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island

Hilton’s Courtyard iftar was one of our favourites last year - and sure to be again in 2026 - but they’re levelling up with not one but two iftar options in prime Yas Bay locations this year: say hello to iftar at Yas Grand Terrace, with views of Yas Bay a gorgeous backdrop as you break your daily fast. A carefully curated menu will showcase everything we loved in 2025: a menu that changes a little night by night, but with a generous range of food. Look out for all the Arabic specialties, as well as Indian options, a pasta station, fresh salads and some glorious hot-off-the-press manakish. We loved the tagine and the kibbe, the beautiful chicken dishes and best of all, the lamb ouzi. Dessert is never disappointing at Hilton, so you’ll have no worries in that department - and the presentation is always on point.

Whether you opt for the beautiful Yas Grand Terrace rooftop or the more intimate and tranquil Courtyard iftar, there are no bad choices here. Live oud music will set a lovely tone, and it’s easy to linger until iftar is done for the evening - and want to stay on longer still. It’s a nice option for families, visitors and a relaxed Ramadan evening out.

Time: daily | sunset - 9PM

Price: AED240 | 50% off for children aged 6-11 | children under 6 complimentary

Iftar Under the Stars at Nahaam

Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers

Iftar under the stars at Nahaam - perfect if you're a foodie looking for a traditional iftar in Abu Dhabi this Ramadan. Reliably good, we’re fans of their fabulous live manakish station - where the dough is slapped onto a rounded griddle, then smothered with cheese and zaatar - is there anything better? Similarly good is shawarma - also hot off the press - and the pasta station sitting alongside. Live stations really elevate an iftar, and this is no exception!

Keep an eye out for other UAE favourites: excellent kabsa, and a stand-out Hyderabadi prawn biryani. In true Conrad style, desserts are plentiful and delicious: mounds of Arabic sweets, a beautiful umm ali and kunafah that sports an impressive cheese pull. For traditional food, Nahaam is a great option.

Al Andalus Tent

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr

A Ramadan tent makes for a truly special iftar experience in Abu Dhabi, and this tent is a must-try this Holy Month. It's beautifully decorated inside, with seats near the end affording views of the Maqta Creek and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque beyond, and majlis-style lounges adding to an atmosphere that feels both intimate and expansive. Food is a mix of traditional and contemporary with a glorious lamb ouzi, shining tureens full of soups, stews and rice dishes - the biryani is an absolute must. You'll love the barbequed meat, the shawarma station carved fresh to order, freshly made pasta - the list of highlights goes on.

Desserts hold their own - definitely grab some Arabic sweets but also, the chocolate concoctions are absolutely delicious and the kunafah station is a must - while a live singer adds the perfect finishing touch to this upscale iftar event - one which we highly recommend.

Grand Millennium Al Wahda

We all know a Ramadan tent is a popular addition around the city throughout Holy Month, and Layali Haritna are rolling theirs out again this year! It’s been a really lovely choice the last few years, and we can’t wait to give it a go again in 2026. Take your choice of indoor or outdoor seating - we are voting for outdoor while we still can! - and enjoy the extra touches at this iftar: plenty of decorations, the twinkling fairy lights of the ‘tent’, live Arabic music every evening and a children’s play area to keep the little ones entertained.

What will break the daily fast? Ouzi lamb, live shawarma stations, a rotisserie, assorted mini bites and salad, cotton candy and plenty of desserts - not least the Turkish ice cream. This one is fun for all ages, with special touches to entertain the kids - and no shame for the big kids, they entertain us as well!
