There's a lot to say about this iftar which brings an incredible sense of the whole spirit of Ramadan.

  • There's a huge range of food
  • Traditional options include lamb ouzi, pastries and biryani
  • Seafood options are plentiful
  • The sushi station is a highlight
  • Desserts are amazing, both including Arabic sweets and more contemporary options
  • There are tons of Ramadan drinks and Arabic coffee
Salad table

I wasn't prepared for the stunning Ramadan spirit that this iftar brought: the effort that went into creating an amazing space to break your fast was impressive and it was a truly feel-good experience.

Is it the place for you? If you love a bit of traditional Ramadan food, but also want a buffet with a ton of variety, then yes.

Lamb ouzi

Traditional

The lamb ouzi didn't disappoint and the pastries were excellent too with some really good spinach fatayer, sambousek and reasonable felafel leading the charge.

Sushi

Seafood & sushi

The seafood counter was broad and covered everything from prawns and cockles to oysters and mussels. The range and quality of maki rolls was excellent and there was some good fresh nigiri and sashimi to devour too! All of this was beautifully presented and is an enticing way to start your meal.

Octopus

And the rest ...

The Asian section produced some interesting dishes: yakitori, grilled octopus and hammour, Korean options, a solid Thai pineapple rice and top tier vegetarian dumplings and siew mai. The bao were realllly good too!

Desserts

Desserts

Desserts at the Garage iftar were beautiful. The beautiful sticky luqaimat and the saffron knafeh were stars of the show, but the little Ramadan themed treats were lovely too. My favourites? The little 'pavlova' (really just a meringue but we'll let that go cos it was a good meringue) and the moon-shaped sable with cream anglaise ... so much goodness.

Seafood

I really liked this iftar: it was full of life and light and fire and happy chefs and I would 100% go back.
