The UAE loves a public holiday and we get more than our fair share of them! But when is the next UAE public holiday for 2025?

The next public holiday in the UAE for 2025 happens to be for Hijri New Year on Friday, June 27. The date has now been confirmed, landing you with a three-day weekend if you have Saturday and Sunday off as you regular weekend.

As with most of the UAE public holidays, the confirmation can take a while to come (like Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha earlier this month - which are never completely confirmed until the moon is sighted, but Arafat Day on Thursday June 5th and Eid Al-Adha from Friday, June 6th - Sunday, June 8th - lead to a total of four days off at the start of June). And now? We have another public holiday to enjoy this month - just in time to make the most of a last burst of summer fun before school holidays begin and droves of Abu Dhabi residents head off on holidays!

So - the all-important question - where are you eating out?

TAPARELLE

MANARAT AL SAADIYAT

This is literally a perennial favourite: go summer, go winter ... it's all good, whatever the season.

Enjoy Chef Omaka's incredible dishes - breakfast highlights include house made croissants and brioches, tartines and glorious fresh, Mediterranean-esque plates. For lunch and dinner we love the small plates: the scallops, the hamachi carpaccio, the extraordinarily good chicken, the steak ... the list goes on. Go for brunch, or for a Friday night out - the vibes are always strong and this is a great option for where to eat on a UAE public holiday.

Open: for breakfast from 8AM, until midnight

ABDEL WAHAB

SOUQ QARYAT AL BERI

For a great Lebanese hit, Abdel Wahab, with views of the creek and the Grand Mosque is a great Eid public holiday dining option. The new fish and seafood menu is proving to be massively popular: choose your fish and have it cooked exactly how you'd like. The tableside salt fish de-boning is a real sight and the gorgeous fish is absolutely delectable, making this perfect for both a low budget Eid option and a splurge on something special. The dedicated indoor smoking area is great while it's so hot - this is where you should choose to dine on the UAE's next public holiday!

VENDOME

EMIRATES PALACE MANDARIN ORIENTAL

Is there anything better on a public holiday than treating yourself and your family? The next public holiday in Abu Dhabi is Arafat Day on June 6 2025, followed by the lovely Eid al Adha on June 6-7.

This is the perfect way to kick off your Eid festivities, featuring both traditional Emirati food and a whole glorious range of international options.
