Is This The Prettiest Afternoon Tea in Abu Dhabi?

The Savouries 

Some places are stronger on savoury bites for afternoon tea, some are stronger on sweet - but Osmo nails the balance of delivering on both! Our picks? We loved the curried chicken and coconut sandwich, the mini lobster quiche - with hints of citrus and leek - and lovely chickpea and the charred pineapple on polenta parmesan crisp. Yum!

The Sweets 

Nestled inside the clam, these sweet treats not only have exquisite attention to detail, but each tastes better than the one before! Raspberry and chocolate will forever be a match made in heaven, and the raspberry parfait with chocolate cremeux had us all sold as a top performer. The refreshing pop of yuzu in the yuzu gianduja chocolate entremets was in perfect balance to the chocolate, and there’s also an adorable little pistachio and strawberry choux topped with a tiny pearl - both on-theme and delicious.

The Scones! 

An essential yardstick for any afternoon tea (because we’ve all been to an afternoon tea where the rock-hard scones could serve as a cricket ball), we know Osmo’s are reliably good - and this visit was no exception. Served with clotted cream, a thick strawberry jam and delightful lemon curd, there wasn’t a crumb of scone left - we’ll let that speak for itself!

The Drinks

Anything but an afterthought, the variety of drinks included in this afternoon tea really makes it stand out, starting with a gorgeous welcome drink to sip on while you wait - the coconut and lychee flavours perfect for a hot summer afternoon. Unlimited coffee and tea flow throughout the experience - including an impressive tea sampler to peruse to find your perfect flavour - and you can enjoy a prosecco if you’re so inclined (or a mocktail if you’re not!).

The Vibe 

Your Pearl Afternoon Tea arrives with fanfare - the staff know a thing or two about wow-factor, right down to some magic with dry ice - and it’s perfect to linger over with friends, as a treat for your next mother-daughter (or father-son!) day out, or for a special occasion. Priced at AED250 for two people, it’s excellent value for such a gorgeous experience - and like us, you’ll be keen to go again!
