With a large pet-friendly open terrace area and views out to the training pitches beyond this is the paw-fect place for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy some me-time with mans-best-friend. Open from 9AM, this is a great spot to grab brekkie, stay for lunch, or catch the sports action at dinner time. Or maybe just grab a drink and watch the world go by? Paw-fection.

THE COLLECTION AT ST REGIS SAADIYAT

With a huge doggy-friendly community in the St Regis Residences it makes total sense that this bustling restaurant should allow four-legged-friends on their outside patio. With a wide menu ranging from a quick Starbucks coffee and freshly made pastry to a fully-fledged meal, this is a fab place to relax and enjoy some really great grub.

Here at Best Bites we're big fans of the popular Mimosa Weekend Brunch, but spaces on the patio are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. BB+ members get 15% off a la carte and the Friday Cin Cin brunch at a special price of AED169.

After summer renovations Stars N Bars will soon reopen their stardeck and if you are popping over to Yas Marina during the day why leave Rover at home? This new burger joint in Yas Bay not only serves fabulous burgers, slushies withe varying alcoholic content and beer, but it's also got a cute little terrace where your dog is welcome. It's right beside the beach and while dogs aren't allowed on the beach, there's tons of promenade for you to walk them. It's a winner!

Sheikha Fatima Park doubles the excitement for you and pooch. Turf Cafe is good on a number of levels: it does great coffee - really really great coffee - good breakfasts and snacks and light meals. If you're a Raha Beach resident, or just fancy a nice place to walk your dog in Abu Dhabi, Raha Beach promenade is a great option. Better still, stop off half way for a slice of pizza, a hearty pasta or some tasty Italian baked goods at Localino, the neighbourhood Italian you need in your life. Dogs are welcome to sit on the terrace and you can get a dog bowl for them while you eat.

Offering the ultimate in family fun, Fahid Beach Club by Barbossa is a great new addition to the dog-friendly scene in Abu Dhabi. Take the kids, take the dog, swim, stroll, tan ... and eat some great family friendly food. We love the tacos and the insanely fresh poke bowls, and of course, bikini bod or no bikini bod, you absolutely cannot go past the churros to finish. It's got a boho vibe, with cool colours, comfortable loungers and great sand, making it the perfect place for you and the dog to spend your weekend!

ART MARKET

Art Market is one of the best cafes in Abu Dhabi. They just seem to get everything right: great coffee, superb breakfast options (breakfast wrap on point!), lovely staff and they're completely dog friendly. You can bring your doggo inside in the heat or sit on the terrace in the cooler weather - there's really nothing better.

This has possibly got to be one of the friendliest places for the four-legged kind in Abu Dhabi. With the cooler weather upon us, enjoy a stroll with your furry friend along the waterfront promenade and you’ll have the pick of the litter for some awesome outside dining spots.

It should be noted that some of the Yas Bay restaurants do sometimes impose size restrictions, so it would be best to call and check beforehand if you’re planning for Beethoven to tag along.

WHERE CAN YOU GO OUT WITH YOUR DOG TO EAT?

It's not always easy to find places you can take your dog, let alone take your dog and eat - so does Abu Dhabi hate dogs? Well, certainly, it's not as up with the doggie play as other cities ... but there are some options for you. Please do let us know where we've missed so we can add them!

Where can I eat out with my dog on-island: Sheikha Fatima Park has a few venues, particularly Crunch and Munch Cafe

And what about Hudayriat Beach? Can I go with my dog?: 25 Minutes To Talum offers a doggie play date on Sundays and is dog friendly the rest of the week

Where's good for me and my dog on Saadiyat: Fahid Island Beach is dog friendly - such a good option for a beach day with your dog. Turf Cafe is the only place on the Hidd strip to allow dogs.

Can I eat out with my dog anywhere on Yas Island: The W Hotel Abu Dhabi actually allows your dog into your room! You can also sit on the terrace at the newly opened Antonia Ansam and Yas Bay Waterfront and Yas Marina both have multiple options for you go to with your dog.

If I live off-island in Abu Dhabi, which restaurants will allow me to take my dog: Localino in Raha Beach allows dogs as does The Boundary. The Keg Room is a great option for a pub lunch with your dog.

THE KEG ROOM

AL ZEINA

The Keg Room in Al Zeina is one of Abu Dhabi's favourite neighbourhood bars. Head there for breakfast, a Sunday roast, dinner, lunch, great Guinness and tons of local colour. Best of all, you can take your dog and sit outside in cooler weather - it's perfect for an after-walk pit stop.

This is Antonia's fifth Abu Dhabi outlet (yes, we're counting Sheikh Zayed International Airport!) and it's got the most superb terraces - front and back! Take your dog, sit under an umbrella and enjoy the lovely community feeling alongside outstanding pizza, pasta, and other Italian goodnesses.

This new beach club allows dogs on Sundays with their Sunday Tails promotion. There's a special menu for dogs, treats and toys and tons of room to run. In association with PETWITHIT and FUN FIT, this is a great day out for dogs and owners alike.

Paradiso serves Mediterranean food with a strong focus on good ingredients, great for a family or friends catch-up. If you're out with your dog, you're welcome to have it sit with you on the terrace in cooler weather, as long as its on a leash and is well behaved. This is another great option in Yas Bay for lunch out with your dog!

DIABLITO

This waterfront tapas favourite is the perfect spot to enjoy some laid-back-bites, and best of all your pooch can join inside and out. Enjoy a Mediterranean-inspired menu, with tapas, omelettes, pizza, paella, and perfectly mixed beverages, with stunning views of the marina.

Diablito is pet-friendly 7 days a week, from opening to closing, with small, medium and large dogs (and cats) allowed on the outside terrace.
