BRUNCH AT THE PARK, THE CAFE

This is a brunch with no ‘fillers’ - all the dishes feel well thought out and executed. The Singapre staple chilli soft shell crab and the beetroot utappam are made to order, and seafood lovers are spoilt for choice with trolleys of French oysters and Osietra caviar blinis, mounds of lobster, crab legs, prawns and mussels on ice, as well as plenty of salmon (smoked, cured, salt baked) and aesthetic sushi that tastes just as good as it looks. There's fresh Atlantic lobster, chimichurri prawns outside too.

In terms of meat, the wagyu striploin is the star of the yakitori station. It screams luxury dining, topped with black caviar, while outside at the hanging grill, it’s hard to choose between the perfectly seasoned tomahawk steak and the lamb chops. The beef short-rib also doesn’t disappoint - it’s well cooked and fall-apart soft.

Desserts are a standout with platters of the tarts, petit bonbons, slabs of artisan chocolate, a flowing chocolate fountain, and cakes decked out with jewel-coloured berries. Surrounded by dry ice, this is a real example of theatre and quality combined. If you eat nothing else, you absolutely must try the vegan cookie - it's top-tier dining!

As well as some of the best brunch wine in town and Warsteiner on tap, there are also some great cocktails and mocktails on offer - the espresso etoile with vodka, Kahlúa, espresso, Nutella créme and a salted caramel foam is also worth saving for the end - it’s a drink and dessert in one! Champagne is Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut.

Service is attentive and the singer drifts through jazzy numbers with popular classics - she's excellent.

Brunch at the Park is great for both food and drink enthusiasts - it's a heck of a good time, the highest end brunch in Abu Dhabi and a must-try if you have guests to impress.

ASADO BRUNCH, MATÉ

This table service brunch is one of the best in Abu Dhabi. Work your way through a number of interesting and well-executed dishes from Argentina, with drinks to match.

Start strong: the Maté empandadas are full of meaty goodness, with the best crunch empanada pastry imaginable. Seafood lovers will enjoy the excellent ceviche with piquancy from finely chopped onions while vegetarians will love the avocado dressed up with hummous and tons of vibrancy. El Choripan sports a curly chorizo sausage with plenty of crunchy notes to add interest and the very cheesy la proveleta is amazing for anyone who's delighted by a cheese pull. Tomatoes cut the richness - it's a super dish.

Choose a main from an outstanding tenderloin, rib eye and wait for the tableside flambeéing of the tomahawk to get your slices as an extra. There's a fried rice dish for vegetarians too, superbly vegetable heavy with a good sesame finish - it's so delicious.

The dessert platter is our favourite thing: the best churros dipped in warm condensed milk and an astoundingly good Argentinian crepe, filled with dulce de leche.

Drinks have taken a step up with both cocktails (save the herencia with dulce de leche till last, this is a slicker espresso martini and absolutely outstanding) and mocktails (the mambo is our top choice) entering the chat. Champagne is Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut.

There's a DJ bringing a Latino vibe but also adding in some classics that have you moving from the start. This is a very, very good brunch and definitely one of the best table service brunches in town.
