WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE CHOCOLATE AFTERNOON TEA

The chocolate afternoon tea comes in a gorgeous leather box. Open the clasps and the lid and you'll find layers of chocolatey goodness ... and a letter, which explains the menu.

Not only does the afternoon tea include a great range of sweet treats, savouries and scones, but also unlimited tea and coffee - even cold coffee drinks, which alone represents excellent value for money.

SAVOURIES

While sweet outweighed savoury, these options were perfectly formed with Chef finding some interesting ways to use chocolate.

Is mole not the best use of chocolate ever?! We found ourselves virtually scoffing the pulled chicken in mole, with fresh mango cubes sprinkled on top. It was the mango that brought the sweetness and added a nice freshness.

The foie with passionfruit and dark chocolate was a great option too, as was the lamb tart with mint foam which went off the chocolate theme, but was nevertheless such a welcome addition.

SWEET LIKE CHOCOLATE

The sweet options were endless and it was hard to pick favourites.

We loved the gorgeous chocolate caramel cheesecake - surprisingly not too sweet and was smooth and delicious. In terms of our love-o-meter, next on the list was the chocolate bon-bon - a superb way to finish.

Scones were enjoyable and served with whipped cream and your choice of either apricot jam or raspberry jam. The chocolate chip scones will be a hit with children - lovely with a wodge of cream!

The best part is that the trays lift up to reveal oodles of chocolate buttons - and yes, these are good to eat for a final chocolate hit!

Drinks are unlimited and if you don't drink tea, they're happy to offer juice or soft drinks instead - this is so accommodating, rare in an afternoon tea experience.
