Abu Dhabi's Best Steak? Welcome to Ray's Grill!

Travel up 63 floors up to Ray’s Grill and get ready for some of the best food and views Abu Dhabi has to offer. Chef Eber Villalobos (ex-Pachamama) not only knows how to treat meat spectacularly, he’s added some non-meat options to the menu that really spice it up.

There's a strong smoky feel to the menu, a throwback to Chef Eber’s Peruvian roots. We're blown away from the start with the oysters (AED65 for 2), served with smoked aji amarillo sauce, which makes for an amazing taste. The grilled octopus (AED100) is absolutely beautiful, cooked to perfection and served with a tangy olive chimichurri and kimchi mayonnaise. For a touch of drama the smoked velouté onion soup is also a highlight, served to your table under a fragrant cloud. The beef tartare (AED90) is equally impressive, served in the figurative bone- something different, simple and beautiful.

The 300g USA tenderloin main (AED370) sliced like butter and had a warm rosy centre and caramelised crust … perfect! The sides were glorious; we enjoyed both the fresh South American flavour of the chimichurri and corn and the comforting mash with truffle and brie and rich mushroom sauce. With vegetarians in mind, we tried the watermelon steak (AED140), served with a superb cauliflower puree and cauliflower crisp.

We’re still raving about the retro poached pear (AED55) which is served with a mild Stilton cream and almond crumb - we’d go back just for this. Continuing the South American smoky theme, the burnt orange ice cream (AED20) is a revelation - the oranges are cooked over coals and absolutely delicious.

We’d do date night here, Christmas Eve or a catch-up with foodie friends who love a view.  Service from Daniel was, as always, outstanding.  We think Ray’s gives an upmarket experience that would be hard to rival, and would love more people in Abu Dhabi to know about how wonderful it is.
