If you’re looking for a fun day - or night - out in Dubai, you’ve probably heard JBR thrown around a bunch - and to make your life easier, we’ve put together a list of 10 of the best restaurants in JBR. Covering cuisines from all over the globe, there’s something for everyone: from fine dining to laid-back, family friendly places there’s a restaurant to fit every mood and budget!
With Dubai Marina on one side and the sparkling blue water of the Arabian Gulf on the other, JBR sits in an enviable position in Dubai. There’s no shortage of things to do in JBR - that’s Jumeirah Beach Residence, if you’re wondering - from a day at the beach, to shopping and of course plenty of fabulous restaurants and cafes to enjoy.
Whether you’re after a proper breakfast to fuel yourself for a day of fun in the sun - and to make the most of JBR’s 1.7km beach, walking tracks and plentiful watersports - or you’re after a bougie dinner or sunset drinks at a JBR hotspot, there’s a lot to love. The beach is great, but not to be confused with The Beach - an open-air shopping precinct that’s a hub for shopping and dining, as well as sport, activities and even a cinema - not confusing at all! If you’re ready to dip a toe in, these hot spots are a great starting point for where to eat in JBR - but let us know if you have any favourites that didn’t make the cut.

BOMBAY BUNGALOW
THE BEACH MALL | JBR WALK
Got a craving for Indian food in JBR? Head to Bombay Bungalow, where you’ll find modern, Indian cuisine with beautiful views of the beach and Ain Dubai. If it’s too hot to enjoy the terrace, the interior is a vibe - think large gilded paintings and chandeliers. The food is fresh and colourful: the kebabs and tikkas come from the open flame wood tandoor oven and cost around AED50, and the curries are full of flavour, averaging AED60. It’s a great option for Indian cuisine in the JBR area!

PURE SKY LOUNGE
HILTON DUBAI THE WALK | JBR
With panoramic views of JBR and Ain Dubai, Pure Sky lounge on the 35th floor of the Hilton is the perfect place to catch up with friends or enjoy a romantic meal in JBR. The perfect sunset spot, enjoy a delicious cocktail and some bar tapas, or go all out with a main if you’re hungry whilst taking in the beautiful views. Their Saturday Sunset brunch is the perfect place to enjoy some gourmet bites and a wide range of drinks - ideal for those weekend sundowners. BBD members score 2for1 on soft and house packages (without the discount, the soft package would set you back AED350 and AED450 for house, so it’s a steal).

BOSPORUS
THE WALK | JUMEIRAH BEACH RESIDENCES
For something a bit different, try Bosporus. This Turkish restaurant in JBR offers authentic dishes from the region and is brilliant for sharing. There’s a few Bosporus restaurants across the city, so you may already be a fan - but this one offers fantastic views of Ain Dubai and the beach from its large terrace. Highlights from their menu include vine leaves (AED42), the Aci Ezme (a delicious tomato and pepper dip for AED35) and their kebabs. We recommend going with a few friends and ordering a range of dishes so you can try a bit of everything.

AWANI
THE BEACH | JUMEIRAH BEACH RESIDENCES
Awani serves Middle Eastern cuisine in JBR, highlighting spices, ingredients and flavours from Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon. Combining a beachfront location and great views of JBR, their huge menu offers all your favourite dishes from Levantine cuisine including sujuk, kibbeh and, of course, shawarma. The prices are reasonable, with starters averaging AED25 and mains around AED70. Awani is a great option for visitors to sample dishes from the Middle East whilst enjoying a view of the iconic Ain Dubai - whether it’s your first time in Dubai, or you’re wanting to show your guests a good time.

CATCH22
THE BEACH | JBR
Catch22 is a fun and family-friendly option in JBR. The neon-lights and funky artwork draw you in from the beach to enjoy their contemporary, eclectic menu. Beware: it’s huge, and features everything from crazy shakes, starting from AED63, to their Instagram-worthy Cheeto-fall burger (you need gloves for this one!) - good luck choosing! The kids menu is unique - you’ll find the classic offerings of nuggets and burgers served in either a dump truck or a cute pink lunchbox, and the kids also score light up cups - all of which they can take home. Winning! There’s even a free photo-booth so you can have a memento of your meal - if you can pry the kids out when it’s time to leave.

MOTT32
ADDRESS BEACH RESORT | JBR
On the hunt for Cantonese food in JBR? Mott 32 is the place for you. Located on the 73rd floor of the Address Beach Resort, this fine dining restaurant offers high-quality favourites from Cantonese cuisine: think dim sum, barbeque beef short ribs and the infamous 42-day applewood roasted peking duck. There’s a stunning terrace framing incredible views of JBR and the marina, or in the warmer months, take a seat in the stylish interior - think low lighting and rich mahogany wood. None of this comes cheap - mains average AED150-200 - but it’s worth it for a celebration or if you feel like splashing out. They offer a great brunch on a Saturday with a live saxophonist, too - so add it to your brunch to-do list!

TAMOKA
THE RITZ CARLTON | JBR
This one is a recipe for a great time: Latin American vibes right on the water in Dubai, anyone? Tamoka is a beachside restaurant serving Latin American cuisine, great energy and Latin beats throughout the day. Highlights of the menu include the pan-fried local red snapper (AED160) which is served with a fresh avocado and mango salsa, and their shredded duck buns from the starter menu (AED70) are a must-try. Looking for a fabulous Sunday brunch? Sabroso Sunday brunch is a lively way to spend the day, with good food, dancing and lively Columbian performances.

THE MAINE OYSTER BAR & GRILL

The MAINE Oyster Bar and Grill is easy to miss - it’s tucked away in the garage of the Hilton Hotel in JBR! Once you find it, the laid-back vibe and light, classy interior make it the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed lunch or dinner. As the name suggests, oysters are one of the stars of the menu, but there’s a lot more to choose from if oysters aren’t your thing! There’s a large tartare selection, a range of vegetarian dishes and their poutine is the best we’ve had in Dubai. We’ve got to say though, the seafood is a highlight and if you’re looking for seafood in JBR, The MAINE is the place to go!

EATALY AT THE BEACH
THE BEACH | JBR
Located in the Pavillion, Eataly at The Beach is our pick if you’re looking for Italian cuisine in JBR. Spanning two floors, this is a large venue that ticks a lot of boxes, from family-friendly restaurant to a large bar area that’s perfect for an aperitivo watching the sun set over the sea. You’ll find all your favourites on the menu, including pizza, over 100 varieties of pasta, and generous main courses (try their parmigiana di melanzane). Prices are reasonable, with pizzas starting from AED71, pasta averaging AED70 and mains around AED100. Leave room for dessert - there’s a dedicated cheese room and their candied orange and dark chocolate cannoli is divine!

EAT GREEK KOUZINA
THE BEACH | JBR
For a casual meal in JBR, it’s hard to pass up Eat Greek, with their fresh dishes reminiscent of a holiday in Greece. Soak up the cosy, Mediterranean atmosphere and kick back on their large terrace, the place to be during the cooler months. With an open kitchen, you can watch the chefs hard at work, and the service is attentive and warm. There’s all the traditional Greek dishes on the menu, including moussaka (AED125), gemista (AED100) and kleftiko roast lamb (AED155). If you’re looking for something lighter, the Greek meze platter is perfect for sharing.
