Officially part of Zayed National Museum grounds, the new Al Masar Gardens are now officially open on Saadiyat Island. Spanning from the Louvre along the waterfront towards the Natural History Museum and all the way across to Zayed National Museum itself, the gardens are home to three pocket-sized cafes, tucked away amongst the outdoor-exhibits:
- RUKN
- Savor By Twins
- Sidra Artisan
The design of the park is clever, each cafe carefully designed to blend with the natural features of the grounds, and the rock and earth formations. Similar in look - and vibe - each cafe has its own specialty, and we liked something different about them all.
But if we had to choose? Here are our rankings!

3. Savor By Twins
Serving up fresh juices (yum) and coffee, this is the only cafe in the park that serves ice cream - meaning it might jump to number one once summer approaches. Try a mix of local flavours - like karak, laban and hibiscus - as well as the classics (chocolate, vanilla, passionfruit). A great option for a sweet treat while you walk around the park, a scoop will set you back AED22. Took a couple of points off as they’d run out of cones when we stopped by, but the flavours were solid.

2. RUKN
Arguably the best view - you can see across the water to the Natural History Museum - RUKN’s speciality is tea! Brewing up karak and other local teas, you can also grab a pastry or slice of cake to go along with your tea if you’re peckish.

1. Sidra Artisan
Great coffee, YUMMY desserts and a nice view of Zayed National Museum’s impressive ‘wings’, Sidra is our pick of the bunch in Al Masar Gardens. It’s tough going, choosing from the artisanal patisserie display - we went with a raspberry concoction and had no regrets - and our iced Spanish latte was tip top, too.
Al Masar Garden is definitely worth a visit while the weather is nice: we’re thrilled to see more and more natural outdoor spaces popping up in Abu Dhabi. Combined with a snack - whether you sit in one of the cafes, or take your treat to-go and enjoy it on your walk - stop by on your next trip to Saadiyat Island.
