How to make a dreary Tuesday exciting? Head to Sofra BLD for the Butcher’s Block!
Sofra has already made a name for itself as a go-to spot for brunch, but it’s the weekday themed dinner nights that are catching our eye at the moment - these beauties are a great option for a bit of a mid-week buffet deal, that’s a cut above many of the rest.
This Tuesday theme night is both all about the meat and not all about the meat!
With a buffet with everything from t-bone to sushi, there’s going to be something to thrill you.
STEAK AND MEAT ON OFFER AT A TUESDAY NIGHT BUFFET
The Tuesday Butcher’s Block evening is heavy on good meat. There’s a dedicated grill station where chefs cook premium cuts to order - juicy T-bones, fillet, rib and rump, all cooked over charcoal to give that unmistakable BBQ taste. The meat is tender and full of flavour, with the T-bone in particular standing out. This is a massive piece of meat, great for those with the big appetites.
Our eyes light up when we saw the beef Wellington: the pastry/mushroom/meat ratio was spot on, while the braised beef brisket is rich and fall-apart soft. Lamb fans will love the roulade and kofta, both well-seasoned and tender. The confit duck leg was also a great addition that is not often seen on the Abu Dhabi buffet scene.
There’s a great choice of sauces too - choose from mushroom, BBQ and peppercorn, as well as a dedicated salt station with eight varieties, from Himalayan pink to lemon and thyme - do try these, this seasoning is so crucial to the end result of the meat and there are some really fun options here.
INDIAN BUFFET OPTIONS
Beyond the grill, the sheer variety is what makes it such a standout evening. An Indian section serves up four different kinds of chicken tikka: the subtle change in flavour and spice genuinely blow us away.
GREAT SUSHI SELECTION AT SOFRA BLD BUFFET
If meat isn’t your thing, the sushi bar will not disappoint, with a selection of maki and nigiri that would appease even the pickiest sushi fans. Wood-fired pizza and a made-to-order noodle station will keep any younger diners happy.
FABULOUS DESSERT AT SOFRA BLD TUESDAY NIGHT BUFFET
Then there’s dessert ... and this is one that you feast your eyes on before diving in!
With a rotating ice cream chiller offering over ten flavours, plus a chocolate foundation and a vast selection of treats, including sweet tarts (we loved the lemon meringue puffs), fluffy buns, and rich cakes. The date pudding was a surprising standout with a rich custard sauce that calls for seconds. The Umm Ali is another must-try.
VIBES AT TUESDAY NIGHT SOFRA BUTCHER'S BLOCK BUFFET
The vibe at Sofra is welcoming and relaxed, and the staff are genuinely enthusiastic. The chefs chat as they cook and seem proud to share what’s on offer.
Whether you’re a meat lover or just after an excellent buffet experience with tons of variety, this theme night has something for everyone. It’s generous, interactive, and everything feels like a flavour bomb - lush for a Tuesday night out in Abu Dhabi.
