DOG FRIENDLY DINING IN ABU DHABI

Animal lovers rejoice! The weather is cooling down and that means every member of the family can enjoy a meal out, yes, even the four-legged ones! Here are 8 spots that will leave you and Fido with your tails wagging!

DIABLITO

YAS MARINA

This waterfront tapas favourite is the perfect spot to enjoy some laid-back-bites, and best of all your pooch can join inside and out. Enjoy a Mediterranean-inspired menu, with tapas, omelettes, pizza, paella, and perfectly mixed beverages, with stunning views of the marina.

Diablito is pet-friendly 7 days a week, from opening to closing, with small and medium dogs (and cats) allowed inside, and big dogs on the outside terrace.

STARS N BARS

YAS MARINA

After summer renovations Stars N Bars will soon reopen their stardeck and if you are popping over to Yas Marina during the day why leave Rover at home? Dogs are welcome in the outside area until 6PM, so you and your pooch can enjoy some winter sun and a quick pint (or two) and some good ‘ole pub grub.

YAS BAY

This has possibly got to be one of the friendliest places for the four-legged kind in Abu Dhabi. With the cooler weather upon us, enjoy a stroll with your furry friend along the waterfront promenade and you’ll have the pick of the litter for some awesome outside dining spots.

It should be noted that some of the Yas Bay restaurants do sometimes impose size restrictions, so it would be best to call and check beforehand if you’re planning for Beethoven to tag along. Here are some of our faves:

THE SPORTSMAN’S ARMS

ZAYED SPORTS CITY

Perfect for the whole family, this fun-filled sports bar has an outdoor play area for the kiddos and their outside terrace is pet friendly, which means you can enjoy a chilled-out meal with none of the fam feeling left out. Our favourite is the Sunday roast … but beware of those puppy dog eyes when the roasted meat hits the table! BB+ members can enjoy 25% the roast and the a la carte menu!

THE BOUNDARY

ZAYED CRICKET STADIUM

With a large pet-friendly open terrace area and views out to the training pitches beyond this is the paw-fect place for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy some me-time with mans-best-friend. Open from 9AM, this is a great spot to grab brekkie, stay for lunch, or catch the sports action at dinner time. Or maybe just grab a pint and watch the world go by? Paw-fection.

NOLU’S CAFE

AL BANDAR

Another relatively dog friendly area around town is the waterside venues at Al Bandar. For fans of home-cooking done right Nolu’s should be up there on your list, and now there’s no need to leave your pup at home while you enjoy the ingenious mix of Californian and Afghani cuisines. Enjoy the various healthy options on offer while enjoying the outside space, and save room for their cheesecake, it’s a winner!

LE NOIR

ST REGIS RESIDENCES SAADIYAT

With a huge doggy-friendly community in the St Regis Residences it makes total sense that this bustling restaurant should allow four-legged-friends on their outside patio. With a wide menu ranging from a quick Starbucks coffee and freshly made pastry to a fully-fledged meal, this is a fab place to relax and enjoy some really great grub.

Here at Best Bites we're big fans of the popular Mimosa Weekend Brunch, but spaces on the patio are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. BB+ members get 15% off a la carte and the Friday Cin Cin brunch at a special price of AED169.

CRUNCH N MUNCH CAFE

SHEIKHA FATIMA PARK

Sheikha Fatima Park doubles the excitement for you and pooch. Firstly, you can enjoy a bit of a run-around or even a touch of agility in the city’s first dedicated dog park, then take a load off and head to Crunch N Munch Café for some exceptional coffee, we love the red velvet latte, and some tasty treats.
