TIME ZONE: It’s fri-nally Friday and Waves invites you to enjoy their 18 handcrafted and signature cocktails for 3 hours from 7-10 pm every Friday & Saturday for the bargain price of AED 149 per person. Each cocktail has a unique name with a story behind it. If you’re a cocktail enthusiast, then this is the perfect deal for you ... the greatest adventures start over cocktails, don't you think?

COCKTAILS: I felt like a kid in a candy store while I was indulging in a variety of beautifully crafted cocktails with unique flavours. There’s a cocktail for everyone here, from sweet to spicy and classic to modern innovations. My husband was not keen on having pink drinks but to his surprise, there were some manly cocktails on the menu to put some hair on his chest. He started with a negroni which was bitter-sweet with hints of citrus from the twist of orange zest. When the server said purple rain, I saw Prince centre stage, setting the scene for the night. The passion spice was a unique one, the chilli-infused rum with passion puree and ginger ale was slightly sweet with a kick. My husband’s favourite, the vodka-based shiny copper with muddled ginger and lemon with ginger ale was refreshing and looked great in the authentic copper glass. The real Cuban was a beauty; it was a passionfruit flavour explosion, both zingy and refreshing. I am a sucker for a good margarita, and this was my favourite for the night. Instead of ordering the classic margarita, I tried the strawberry one where the subtle sweetness of the strawberries and salty rim were addictive!

BAR BITES:

We took advantage of the 25% off with Best Bites on a la carte. We started with breaded fried shrimp which disappeared within minutes: the crispy shrimp with a dash of fresh lemon juice and sweet chilli sauce was divine. We also recommend trying the crispy duck bao duo and tuna avocado tartare.

The outdoor patio with café lights was a lovely space to enjoy cocktails, great food and shisha. If you love cocktails, then you'll be in your element as you watch the mixologists whip up their delicious concoctions. This is great for both men and women – who said cocktails are unmanly?!
