There’s been so much build-up to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup and it’s finally kicked off! All the chat has been about the matches and it's going to get even more exciting

“Did you see last nights game?”

“Are you watching the match tonight?”

If you're looking for somewhere with great atmosphere, PJ's is a great option for you!

Decked out with flags from around the world, PJ O’Reilly’s is fully immersed in football fever! PJ's has installed one of the largest outdoor screens in the city, directly across the pool which allows pretty much all the tables in the outdoor area a front row seat to the matches. There's a selection of outdoor tables - from benches, to high tables, to more relaxed lounge chairs, and a number of indoor screens (5 that I counted!), for those who prefer to watch from the comfort of the bar.

Spend just AED100 per person in the fan zone, fully redeemable on food combos or drinks.

AED100 gets you 3 drinks, AED 150 gets you 5 drinks

AED100 means a burger + 2 drinks OR nachos + wings + 2 drinks

There are a variety of drinks available including Heineken, Budweiser, all varieties of wine including sparkling, and a mix of house spirits.

The food menu offered burgers, platters and bar bites which are perfect for sharing over the table. The PJs platter comes with the best of the bar bites: juicy pigs in blankets, BBQ beef brisket sliders with crisp slaw, huge, sticky sweet and sour chicken wings, and lightly fried calamari. We doubled down on the dirty fries, which came both in the platter and as a bar bites plate, scooping up the layers of sour cream, melted cheese, salsa and the hidden pulled pork with the huge waffle fries.

We flipped a coin between the crispy fried buffalo chicken burger with pickle mayo and streaky bacon and the PJ's beef burger. The PJs burger was perfectly prepared with cheddar cheese melted across the huge beef patty and served with their amazing thick hand cut chips.

The terrace also offers shisha - which is very tempting to calm the nerves of the game! PJs is also holding raffles to win beer towers so try your luck!

As someone who isn't crazy for football, it's easy to get dragged into the excitement of the tournament. We caught the tail end of the England v Iran game and stayed for the Senegal v Netherland game, both of which had plenty of fans but also quite a few tables just there to enjoy the football spirit.

PJ's will be showing all the games throughout the FIFA World Cup so grab your friends and head down! It's a good time.
