This was one of 2023's most popular iftars and walking through the decorated entryway at Balcon Terrace, we can see why! You’ll feel immediately transported to a souk: fabric wall hangings, authentic decorations and overflowing baskets of dates all set the scene - it’s hard to believe you have just stepped off the street in downtown Abu Dhabi. Once inside, the spread is ample.
After a date or two to break your fast, hot and cold mezze await to take the edge off your hunger, before you dish up a hearty plate from the live cooking stations and of course, lamb ouzi! Desserts run toward both the traditional and the contemporary - the excuse you didn’t need to enjoy a plate of each. At Sahha, break your fast with a traditional iftar buffet and glorious views to match. An extensive spread awaits, a variety of cuisines including Arabic, Asian and Indian, offer a rotating selection of three different menus during the holy month to keep things fresh. The skyline and water views and open air terrace of Pearl Lounge make for an atmospheric iftar backdrop. Family-friendly and relaxed, this iftar is a welcoming affair! With a backdrop of palm trees overlooking the serene pool, this is a great spot to pull up a pew as day turns to night. Break your fast with a feast of favourites as Rangoli and Choices join forces: we spy traditional Arabic delicacies, live stations, some Indian specialties and plenty of Ramadan juices to wash the whole thing down.
There’s no rush to leave: a live oud player kicks off after prayer time, entertaining diners until 10.30PM, and shisha is available from 7PM until midnight.
