The Director’s Club Brunch transported me to a swanky Hollywood movie set with towers of bubbly, elegantly infused cocktails, picture-perfect dishes, live music and ultra-classy vibes. If you’re looking for a reason to dress up, then this is it!

The five cocktail options were superb: my husband enjoyed the Smoky Caribbean Negroni infused with wood smoke. The Muscadel gin with red Muscadel dessert wine and rose syrup was my favourite, sweet with a floral fragrance. For a special occasion, the bubbles package with Perrier-Jouet is a winner!

SCENE 1: THE BREAD

Enter the signature fluffy milk and butter bread. What a way to start! It literally melted in our mouths and it’s all we can think of, days later!

SCENE 2: STARTERS

The feast started with sharing-style appetisers. The baked oysters Rockefeller topped with a rich butter sauce, parsley and breadcrumbs were addictive and The Director’s Club signature beef tartare was devoured at our table – we’ll be back for it! The creamy burrata, tossed mixed salad and truffle mac and cheese croquettes were delicious.

SCENE 3: MAIN EVENT

Though The Director’s Club is primarily a steakhouse, the brunch has something for everyone. If you’re a meat lover, the signature chargrilled tomahawk is a MUST-TRY at this brunch – the whopping 1.5KG steak is carved tableside on a trolley: the steak is exquisitely tender and buttery, with beautiful marbling. DROOL! Choose from other tasty options including smoked beef brisket, whole roasted seabass, chipotle-BBQ braised lamb or the beautiful grilled vegan cauliflower steak with garden veg, Venere risotto and toasted walnut.

ENDING: AMERICAN CLASSICS

The dessert platter trio was fabulous all-round. We loved the unique take on s’mores, the mini chocolate ice-cream Magnum topped with roasted marshmallows, the creamy New York cheesecake and the zesty key lime pie.

This was a great finish to Abu Dhabi’s newest Saturday brunch and it’s definitely red-carpet worthy!

After you’ve had your fill, head to The Overlook, the hotel’s stunning rooftop lounge to enjoy the sunset and live music. The drinks package starts at AED 99 per hour.
