FOR THE MEAT LOVER IN YOU!

From secret menus and ribs to burgers and dry-aged steak, Steakers has got it all for the meat lover in you! They don't mess about - the menu is small and focused: they're niche, they know it ... and we're here for it!

Let's start with the steak:

Point 1: the chef knows how to season! Not only was the steak cooked to medium perfection, but salted perfectly with sprigs of rosemary adding to the impact. Superb.

Point 2: the meat is good quality with the result that the taste shines through and it's a joy to eat.

Point 3: it's served sliced on a tray, with small pots of sauce and coleslaw and something that resembles a Yorkshire pudding but much denser and not quite on point. Sides are extra: sweet potato fries are AED15, normal fries AED10 and beans (AED25). We also tried the mac and cheese (a small pot for AED25) which Paige liked a lotttttt! (I would've liked a bit more cheese but that's probably just me.)

Point 5: without sides, the steak is AED149 and in my opinion worth every fil. You get 300 grams and of that, I could only eat three slices - it's a lot.

If you're looking for more than steak, search around for the secret burger menu. We ordered the SBB, which came with deliciously melted swiss cheese, caramelised onions on a mix of brisket and chuck. The bun was good, the fillings absolutely incredible and I'm going back to try the others.

Drinks are organic cola and a couple of shakes - the date one was gorgeous. They also do ribs which I also hope to try when I go back.

It's a cute little place with maybe six tables and some bar stools, with a suitably cool interior. I was so happy to see a literally four item menu: this is smart operating and means they can do what they do and do it well instead of trying to please everyone, which in my opinion is the downfall of so many restaurants in Abu Dhabi. It's unpretentious and just out to do great meat, which it does, very successfully.
