MEAT BOARDS

Picture it: Nahaam terrace, full of tourists and staycationers, pool shimmering with lights, ambient music ... and the chefs marching from the kitchen, heading my way and shouldering this MASSIVE board! All that was missing was a line of trumpeters signalling their entrance! Cue: tourists stop talking, jaws drop, eyes wide ... and me feeling the need to explain to the many interested bystanders that I wasn't planning on eating the whole thing myself. It's no wonder they were impressed; this is a magnificent beast of a board.

What's the deal, Neil?

For AED500 you can choose between either dynamite prawns or a chicken, mango, avocado salad, then you get the whole board and to finish, a small cheesecake.

What's on the board, Miss Ford?

In short, a mixture of meat, fish, seafood and vegetables. The board feeds four people and there was beyond enough for everyone. I couldn't resist starting with the best jacket potatoes, slathered in sour cream and bacon-y bits and both crispy and soft where they should have been. Next in line was the tender and glorious short ribs, a piece of tenderloin, buttery glorious prawns, light crispy calamari, seared tuna, grilled salmon, the best salt and pepper chicken I've had in ages, sweetcorn, asparagus, tomatoes ... it was a world of wow.

The dynamite prawns were excellent and warrant their own trip to Nahaam and the cheesecake a great way to just give a nod to something sweet at the end.

If you're looking for somewhere different and impressive to take your guests, or just want a family or friends outing, this is it. It's an amazing deal, with excellent food and service in the best atmosphere.
