AL REEM ISLAND
It's official: Turkey does great meat, and next in line to prove it is Gungor Chef.
Wait, hold the bus!
It doesn't stop there, Gungor Chef also offers sushi and sports a mochi platter on its dessert menu!
Confused? Don't be. The meat quality is good,(there's a tomahawk for AED500 for 2 and a golden tomahawk for AED900 if you're feeling flush!), the sushi is good - it's definitely a catch-all kind of restaurant, with something to please everyone. And as an added bonus, it's licensed - one of the very few licensed places (if not the only!) on Reem.
See you there!

With white jacketed waiters, a beautiful menu of sweet treats and absolutely excellent coffee, you could be forgiven for thinking you're in Italy! The newly-opened Cipriani Dolci is a sweet feast for both the eyes and the tastebuds. The decor is genteel, the waiters mostly speak Italian and the staff genuinely do place excellent service above all else.
We tried the mille foglie, flaky layers of pastry separated by a perfect vanilla bean-laden creme diplomat and a superb cannoli, filled with the creamiest ricotta.
As an afterthought, we ordered the strawberry tart which turned out to be the favourite: a crisp pastry sablée, creme patisserie and strawberries redolent of balsamic. This will be the dish we order again, when we return to Cipriani Dolci for another dose of Italy.

SHEIKHA FATIMA PARK
If you're a lover of the humble prawn toast, done exceptionally well, Mamafri should be the next place on your list of new restaurants to try in Abu Dhabi. The interior boast clean lines, and a cool, chic finish - perfect for a meal with a good friend.
Alongside this comfort food staple, you'll find such South-East Asian delicacies as wagyu sandos, a superb wagyu mashed potato extravaganza and the must-try coco-cloud dessert, served in a new coconut. Mamafri does everything you'd expect but does it a little better than its competitors - and for this, we shall return!

If you're looking for a non-alcoholic option for an afternoon aperitivo, Herber Hibiskus could be it. This drink, born and raised in Germany, is the perfect drink for those looking for something that looks like an Aperol Spritz but without the sweetness and of course the alcohol. Add tonic and a dash of lime juice and you've got yourself a refreshing mocktail-esque drink. Cheers!

Grill House is a certified, all-out, serious meat place. Located in Al Rawdah, cuts are good and preparation is better. Not just dedicated to steak in all its forms, Grill House also does a great burger, huge and juicy. It's not on the cheaper side of the market but if you're a meat lover who cares about the quality of your steak, you definitely need to try Grill House.

Abu Dhabi is crying out for more excellent Indonesian restaurants and Rempah looks to be a contender. The interior makes you feel like you're walking into a contemporary slice of Jakarta. With a great range of Indonesian essentials, including what might be the best rendang in town, absolutely excellent satay kambing (lamb) and some ridiculously fresh hand-made noodles, we think this will be a staple for those looking to eat great food in Abu Dhabi.
