Uva is an excellent option if you're off island and want a couple of drinks in a good bar or a night out with the girls. This aperitivo night runs from 4PM every afternoon till 11PM, giving you options no matter what time you can make it.

Served on an afternoon tea style stand, the cheese is accompanied by fruit and charcuterie items as well as some crackers to go with it. It's paired with some amazing house wines, which will not disappoint - these are unlimited for 2 hours.

Uva is definitely one of the better bars off island and is often overlooked - this wine and cheese night gives you the perfect excuse to give it a go.

LE BISTROT

Le Bistrot isn't a huge space and is bright and modern, making for a nice ambiance. Their wine and cheese is a really nice evening out.

The buffet is modest but mighty with a cheese selection made up of about 15 high-quality French cheeses, a few different cold cuts, dried fruits, and spreads. Fresh warm bread is served to the table throughout the evening along with butter and roasted garlic. Each cheese is labeled with the name of the cheese and the type of milk it was made from, which is helpful for us would-be-but-aren't cheese enthusiasts. The cheese range is good: some creamy and bright, some are smooth and nutty, and others firm and a bit funky. There's an orange marmalade which pairs well with the double cream cow's milk cheese, Camembert. They also have a caramel spread to pair with one of the salty goat's cheeses.

There are two wines included in the offer, red or white, both are French, of course and both very drinkable wines! The offer runs for 4 hours from 7-11pm, which is plenty of time to work your way through all of the different cheeses and more than a few glasses of wine on a Friday night!

RACLETTE

The cheese and wine night at Raclette is a cut above others with 2 hours of unlimited wine and some excellent cheese on offer. As usual, the team at Raclette goes over and above to make sure a good experience is had by all: there's plenty of bread and crackers to go with the cheese including some sinfully good garlic bread and even a bowl of melted cheese, giving a nod to the Raclette moniker.

What makes it even better is the recent addition of live music. Starting from 8PM, enjoy the classics in English, French and Spanish, making for a magical ambiance, giving that little bit of je ne sais quoi that gives Raclette its sublime edge.

Perfect for either date night or a girls get-together, The Warehouse is one of Abu Dhabi's unsung heroes. With its moody interior, it croons wine cellar and is completely suited to a laid-back wine and cheese experience.

The cheeseboard is a good size, with some nice cheese including brie de meaux and cheddar, paired with a couple of cornichons and some tomato relish. We also enjoyed the cold cuts, which were fresh and tasty, a great accompaniment to the cheesy goodness. All of this is accompanied by some seriously pillowy bread and of course a grissini or two to add some crunch to the experience.

Choose from 8 wines: 3 white, 3 red a rose and a sparkling, all well-matched with the cheese on offer.
