DO: SEE SOME WORLD CLASS GOLF AT THE WESTIN FOR FREE
The Hero Cup heads to Abu Dhabi Golf Club this weekend and you can watch some world class golf for free. The action kicks off from the 12th where on Thursday Pro-Am spectators can get even closer to their favourites, as the likes of Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry and Francesco Molinari will be practicing on the national course. Watch from Friday as the two men’s teams from Great Britain and Ireland and continental Europe battle it out for glory against the backdrop of Abu Dhabi's best golf course.
With plenty of food and beverage options and even free golf lessons in the fanzone, there's all the more reason to head down and catch the action.

DO: CATCH A JUNK FASHION SHOW AT ETIHAD ARENA
Sustainable fashion, climate change, and self-expression is the name of the game at the Junk Kouture World Final at the Etihad Arena. Watch as young people from around the globe showcase their designs made from 100% recycled materials. The global competition sees young designers, aged 13 to 18, who following months of hard work and rounds, have made to the grand final in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 11th of January 2023. The Junk Kouture World final will see 60 teams, from the likes of Paris, Milan, New York, London, and the UAE, compete for different titles culminating in the crowning of the Junk Kouture World Designer of the Year 2022.
Expect high fashion, celebrity judges, live music and performances, and special guest experiences. This should be a night to remember.

DINE: TRY A VEGAN MENU AT PUNJAB GRILL
If you are dipping your toes into Veganuary this January, or a fully-fledged plant eater, one to try is the new vegan menu at Punjab Grill. Available until the end of January, the fully plant-based menu includes signature dishes such as palak patta chaat and toro root dumplings, as well as exciting new dishes such as tandoori broccoli and mushroom, prepared with sweet potato pureé and coconut foam. There are even vegan churros on offer for those who need something sweet after their meal! Count us in.

DO: BRUNCH WITH THE BIG CATS AT EMIRATES PARK ZOO
Suffering from the January blues? Check out this once-in-a-lifetime experience at Emirates Park Zoo which will put a smile on your face. This is certainly one for the big cat fans as you share your lunch with the leopards (behind the glass of course): pull up your chair and enjoy some gourmet dinner as the leopards join you at their side of the table and enjoy their din dins. This private experience gets you up close with these majestic beasts and gets you a private Q&A with the leopard keeper so you can ask all the questions. DINE: COULD THIS BE ABU DHABI’S BEST PIZZA?
Marmellata, an Abu Dhabi pizza institution is set to open its doors this week in a pre-opening on January 13th and 14th from 5PM – 7PM. This focaccia pizza homebase made waves in the capital before the pandemic, despite only being open one night a week, with queues often forming outside hours before opening. Run by father and son team, Raj and Sebastian, this dynamic duo are fans of creating the out-of-the-ordinary flavour combinations – smoked duck breast with radicchio and fig we are looking at you. Having closed their doors for the pandemic and then completely when their former location was sold, they have now set-up-shop in their new location “down by the sea” in Mina Zayed port area, with 24 seats and a takeaway window, and are tentatively making steps towards opening for more days with even more menu options.
We expect this to be BIG so watch this space.

DO: ENJOY A WORLD CLASS HORSE SHOW
Returning for its sixth consecutive year, the Al Shira’aa Horse Show, kicks off this Thursday at Al Forsan International Sports Resort. Promising a full weekend of family fun, fantastic food and beverage options, shopping, and of course some stunning show jumping, showing and dressage competitions. With classes starting from 8:30 AM and free entry for all this is one for horse lovers not to miss.
