DINE: CULINARY MONTH AT CONRAD


This week is the last week you can grab the amazing Culinary Month menus at Conrad Abu Dhabi. These exceptional three course menus are just AED250 per person and take place at the six high end restaurants. This is an amazing way of tasting 5-star cuisine at an incredibly affordable price. The Best Bites team favourites were the unbelievably tender roast lamb from Li Beirut, the five spice Octopus fristo from Tori No Su, and not forgetting arguably the best dessert you could have all year – the dulce de leche fondant from Latin-favourite Vakava.

DO: DIWALI AT YAS BAY


The Yas Bay waterfront is coming alive on October 24th – 29th to celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali. Be enthralled by bhangra dancers and dhol drummers every evening from 6PM – 10PM, as they make their way up the boardwalk entertaining the crowds. Enjoy a fabulous meal at one of the Yas Bay restaurants and for those who spend over AED150 you can visit the Henna tent, located next to family-friendly burger, bowling and beats joint, Central, and treat yourself to a complimentary, intricate, traditional design.


The week of celebration culminates in an electric performance by award-winning singer and composer A.R Rahman. Guests are invited to don their festive attire and enjoy the concert, filled with a selection of his most famous tracks. Tickets available from Etihad Arena.

October has been a month chock-full of garden celebrations, stein swinging, pretzel eating fun as Abu Dhabi has fully got into the Oktoberfest swing. But the fun is not over yet! Starting on October the 27th Abu Dhabi’s biggest Oktoberfest is kicking off in spectacular style in their brand-new location, The Green, Abu Dhabi City Golf Club.

DO: AL DHAFRA CAMEL FESTIVAL


There are a few things that are synonymous with Abu Dhabi – rolling desserts, incredible beaches, some interesting driving techniques, and… Camels. These gentle giants are integral to the UAE’s culture and history, and where better to get up close and personal but the annual Al Dhafra Camel Festival. Taking place from the 28th of October to the 31st of January 2023, under the patronage of Mohamed bin Zayed, visitors can expect to see thrilling camel racing, auctions, and showcasing the tens of thousands of these beautiful beasts from across the region in the Camel beauty contests (yes, it is a real thing). Wander the bustling souks, enjoy fantastic local cuisine and other activities such as archery, shooting, saluki dog racing and more.

DINE: THE HAUNTED HALLS OF HALLGLOWEEN


It’s nearly Halloween time in the city and all the ghosts and ghoulies are coming out to play. Expect a full weekend of spooks and thrills in Abu Dhabi leading up to Al Hallows Eve on Monday the 31st.


Head to the Rosewood on Saturday 29th October for their Haunted Halls of Hallgloween event, which promises to be a night of fright, with a spooktacular a la carte menu (with no minimum spend)– with treats such as monster popcorn and Frankenstein nachos – a terrifyingly swingin’ sax player, face painting, and prizes for the scariest costume.
