George Bournelis is a Greek chef and the Head Chef of Soraya in Abu Dhabi, bringing a wealth of international experience from some of Europe’s most respected kitchens.

His career includes Raymond Blanc’s two-Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Michelin-starred Luca in London and CTC in Athens. During eight years in the UK, he also held the position of Sous Chef at Soho Farmhouse, developing strong leadership skills in a dynamic, high-volume hospitality environment.

Combining classical European techniques with a passion for bold flavours and live-fire cooking, George brings a refined yet approachable philosophy to Soraya’s food.

Today, at Soraya, he draws on this diverse background to reinterpret Persian-inspired cuisine, balancing tradition, creativity and contemporary culinary craftsmanship.
