5 New Restaurants To Try In Abu Dhabi May 2022

There are even more funky new places to dine out in Abu Dhabi!

What has this week's newbie collection taught us?

Move over Yas Bay, Al Bateen is hitting back!

We 100% need more pizza places in Abu Dhabi and ...

A refurb is always a good idea!

Contemporary all-day cafe

Superbly placed waterside at Bateen Marina, Siglo is sure to please. With an extensive menu (breakfast looks good!) with everything from wings to mezza, there's bound to be something that floats your boat ... including shisha from AED70! Dine out here, enjoy the water and try something new every time you go. We give a big tick to Al Bateen dining!

Contemporary, upscale cafe ... with shisha!

It's taken over what was Dish Dash in Etihad Plaza, KCA and it's a fabulous refurb ... not just of the decor, but the whole vibe of the place. Might be our new cheeky lunchtime shisha spot ... with a good mocktail and a bit of dry ice drama! This is definitely a new opening that is a great spot to dine in Khalifa City.

Box resto, beside Nation Towers on the Corniche

Working along the same uber-successful lines as Lento, 3b is serving us up a triple b storm ... but only until they sell out, which they do! Don't beat about the bush, get down to 3b and bag a burger!

Sidenote: how much do we love a funky box outlet in a decent location that makes us want to eat outside?!

Detroit-style pizza ... squared!

Emmy Squared has brought a frisson of excitement to various members of the BB team, who love a good Detroit-style squared pizza. So what is it? Pizza Detroit style is thick and square with a good amount of cheese caramelising on the edge and gooing in the middle. Now you can see why were were excited about this new place to dine in Abu Dhabi! It's also met with a big affirmative from parents who would like to dine at Yas Bay with their kids. Welcome to the UAE dining scene Emmy Squared!

If there's one cuisine Abu Dhabi doesn't do nearly well enough, it's Greek. Enter: Zoe Kouzina! It's location on the marina at Al Bateen is nautical enough to make you feel like you're on Rhodes, and it doesn't mess around with its contemporary decor and modern twist on proper Greek food. It's not licensed though ... does that matter?
