IT'S FINTASTIC: LE BISTRO BY SALMONTINI LANDS IN ABU DHABI

From the moment you enter, a bistro vibe is alive and well - close knit tables, clever lighting, greenery and a long bar leading to a bustling kitchen.
Live music, chattering patrons and the most welcoming staff made for a delightful atmosphere on opening night. We’ve walked into many a restaurant in the city and been the only diners, yet Le Bistro by Salmontini was the opposite - we wanted to immediately call our friends and tell them to join us.
FOOD
You want to turn up to Le Bistro hungry - bring friends who like to share so you can try a little of everything. We were spoilt on opening night with some tasty pass-arounds - special mention for melt-in-your-mouth duck pâté and tender salmon bites topped with caviar.
Bluefin and hamachi carpaccio with pickled papaya won us over at the starter course - the papaya was the perfect cut through with the fish, and the dish was pretty as a picture - but how do you beat roasted Dibba oysters, baked with chorizo garlic butter? Yum!
Is it sacrilege to rave about steak at a restaurant that is named for a fish? The Entrecôte St. Germain des Prés - Australian Wagyu beef tenderloin with pomme frites and a secret sauce - deserves its praise: perfectly cooked, we’d go back for the sauce alone.
DRINKS
With a well stocked bar and enthusiastic bar staff, the signature cocktails are definitely worth a try, but our wine lovers won’t be left disappointed by a wine offering that compliments the excellent food. Their passion fruit mojito mocktail goes down a treat too, especially on a warm evening.
BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER
Like Le Bistro in Dubai, this new kid on the block is open for breakfast and lunch daily. After a peek at the menu, breakfast will be our next stop - you can bet their Salmontini Benedict will be a standout, and as a sucker for a sweet brekky I’m ready to tuck into a plate of French toast. It’s a great offering - and equally perfect for a long breakfast on the weekend, a lunch meeting mid-week or a delightful dinner that ticks all the boxes. See you there!
